SCODRO, REINERTSON AND KEEGAN LEAD BOYS DIVISION AFTER SECOND ROUND
Do goes into final round a top the Girls leaderboard

WALES, Wis. — Conclusion of the second round saw a three-way tie in the Boys Division between Chicago native, Maxwell Scodro, Jordan Reinertson of Gibbon, Neb., and Brady Keegan from Eau Claire, Wis. They each carry tournament totals of 146, holding a one-stroke advantage going into the final round. Making a move in the Girls Division is Brianna Do, who carded an even par 71 to go up four-shots on the competition.

Future Legends is a 54-hole tournament conducted by the American Junior Golf Association at The Legends at Brandybrook in Wales, Wis. The 84-player field boasts 63 boys and 21 girls from 16 states across the country.

Keegan, Scodro and Reinertson have tallied 146s for the tournament. The trio combined for seven birdies on a difficult 6,830 yard course that had a stiff wind blowing in from the northwest.

“The course was a lot tougher today with the wind,” Reinertson said. “I had a tough stretch to close the front nine, but I made them up here and there. I'll just have to treat being in the lead as if it were any other day of golf.”

Three California natives currently occupy fourth place. Lawrence Hsu of West Covina, Tain Lee of San Juan Capistrano and Andrew Patipaksiri carry totals of 147.

Leading the way in the Girls Division with a tournament total of 146 is Brianna Do of Lakewood, Calif. Do jumped to the top of the leaderboard by shooting par during the second round after posting a 75 in the opening round.

“A difference in my play today is that my putts were dropping,” Do said. “Making putts helped to lower my score. The greens felt slower, they are real nice.”

Do is chasing her second title in two weeks after claiming the Natural Resource Partners Bluegrass Junior crown in Ashland, Ky., on June 23. She also placed in the top five at the Rand Graphics/Wildcat Golf Wichita Junior Championship earlier this month.

“I have been in this position before and I have learned,” Do said. “I used to make mistakes when I was leading, but I have learned to fix those mistakes.”

Tied for second is Ashley Freeman of Belleville, Ill., and Encinitas, Calif., native Danielle Frasier. The duo each hold a two-day total of 150.

Peter Haller of Winnetka, Ill., and Cabe Prieskorn of Texarkana, Texas, put their names down in The Legend at Brandybrook's three-year history during the second round. Haller registered his first ever hole-in-one on a 337 yard par-4 by using a driver on the fourth hole. It is the first hole-in-one recorded on No. 4. Prieskorn used a four iron to fire in his 192 yard hole-in-one on No. 12.
