Local flavor
Sixteen players from Kentucky will compete in the PNC Bank Junior Championship presented by London & Laurel County. London natives Alex Davis and Korey Philpot will be playing in their first AJGA Open events. Elsa Moberly of Science Hill, Ky., is the highest-ranked Kentucky native in the field at No. 123 in the Polo Golf Rankings. The rising junior has six top-10 finishes in national competition on her resume and will seek her first AJGA victory.
Louisville bound
Emily Kurey of Alpharetta, Ga., will compete in one of her final junior events at Crooked Creek Golf Club, but the future Louisville Cardinal will be close to her future home. She won the 2012 Under Armour® / Scott Stallings Championship presented by True Temper to cap off last year's season and will seek her first AJGA title of 2013.

Top Players to Watch

Davis Shore, Knoxville, Tenn. (2017)
In his debut year with the AJGA, Shore has posted three top-10 finishes, including a third-place showing at the Junior All-Star at Red Tail in June. The rising freshman comes off a fourth-place showing at the Harvey Penick Junior All-Star at the end of June and looks to capture his first AJGA title.
Brooke Graebe, Yorba Linda, Calif. (2015)
At No. 109 in the Polo Golf Rankings, Graebe is the highest-ranked player in the field. She has recorded two runner-up finishes in 2013, including the Bridgestone Golf / Brandt Snedeker Music City Junior presented by Toyota and the Junior All-Star at Mission Inn. The rising junior has seven top-five finishes on her resume, but will seek her first AJGA title at the PNC Bank Junior Championship presented by London & Laurel County.
Kaho Monica Matsubara, San Diego, Calif. (2015)
Matsubara also highlights the strong Girls Division field at No. 157 in the Polo Golf Rankings. The rising junior has collected six top-10 finishes in national competition, including a second-place showing at the 2013 Evitt Foundation RTC Junior All-Star.
Sophia Schubert, Oak Ridge, Tenn. (2014)
Schubert is the only Rolex Junior All-American in field, earning honorable mention honors in 2012. She is No. 158 in the Polo Golf Rankings behind the strength of a victory at the 2012 Bridgestone Golf / Brandt Snedeker Music City Junior presented by Toyota. The Auburn verbal commit has amassed two top-10 AJGA finishes in 2013 and looks to claim her first AJGA title of the year at Crooked Creek Golf Club.

Media Accommodations

The PNC Bank Junior Championship presented by London & Laurel County will have AJGA communications representatives on hand to assist media throughout the week. Prior to the tournament the AJGA will provide information about the event and its participants, as well as assist with player interviews.

After each round, media officials on-site will write a recap with the day's results. These will be emailed to all media outlets. Interviews with AJGA Tournament Directors, Tournament Chairmen and juniors may be conducted before or after tournament rounds.

About the AJGA

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. The AJGA provides valuable exposure for college golf scholarships, and has an annual junior membership (boys and girls ages 12-18) of approximately 6,000 junior golfers from 49 states and more than 50 countries. To ensure scholarship opportunities for all junior golfers who have the skill, the AJGA created the Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program to provide financial assistance to young players in need.
