WALKER MAINTAINS LEAD AT HP BOYS JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Peck and Cody tied in second at 1-under-par at Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge

ORLANDO, Fla. — Christopher Walker of The Woodlands, Texas, leads at 3-under-par 213 after the third round of the HP Boys Junior Championship at Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge.

Conducted by the American Junior Golf Association, the HP Boys Junior Championship is a 72-hole stroke play event being held at Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge. The tournament field consists of 78 boys, ages 12-18, from 24 states and four foreign countries. The field is playing the par-72 course, home of the PGA TOUR's Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard, at 7,277 yards.

Walker's round of 1-over-par 73 featured one birdie and two bogeys. He said his best hole today was No. 4, his lone birdie for the day.

“I had a good drive then hit it into the front bunker,” Walker said. “I hit it up and down and made the putt for birdie.”

Walker will close his AJGA career tomorrow before heading to Notre Dame next fall. He has posted four top-10 finishes in the last three years, including a win at last year's Elbit Systems of America Junior Golf Classic.

“Today was a little frustrating,” Walker said. “The greens were hard to read. I just need to stay consistent tomorrow and play well in order to finish out my AJGA career with a win.”

A pair of players are tied for second place at 1-under-par 215. Austin Cody of North Charleston, S.C., is coming off a tie for eighth at The Verizon Junior Heritage and a tie for 10th at the Western Junior. Overall, the 2007 Rolex Junior All-American has five career AJGA top-10 finishes.

Cameron Peck of Olympia, Wash., is also at 1-under-par and will look to overcome a two-shot deficit and claim his second AJGA Invitational crown of the season and third win of the year. He won the Wellstone Communities Junior at Craig Ranch in April and the FootJoy Invitational in June.

In a five-way tie for fourth at even-par 216 are Julian Suri of St. Augustine, Fla., Byeong-hun An of Seoul, South Korea, Aaron Sherry of Fort Myers, Fla., Patrick Cantlay of Los Alamitos, Calif., and Ben Kohles of Cary, N.C.

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. The AJGA, the largest Association of its kind, has an annual junior membership (boys and girls ages 12-18) of approximately 5,000 junior golfers from 49 states and 30 foreign countries.

Titleist, the AJGA's National Sponsor, has been the catalyst and driving force behind the Association's success since 1989. Rolex Watch USA, which is in its third decade of AJGA support, became the inaugural AJGA Premier Partner in 2004. In 2007, after 12 years of support, Polo Ralph Lauren became the AJGA's second Premier Partner.

AJGA alumni have risen to the top of amateur, collegiate and professional golf. More than 160 former AJGA juniors currently play on the PGA and LPGA Tours and have compiled more than 300 wins. AJGA alumni include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Stewart Cink, Davis Love III, Cristie Kerr, Pat Hurst, Paula Creamer, Brittany Lincicome, Morgan Pressel and Julieta Granada.

Final-round tee times for the HP Boys Junior Championship will run from 7-8:33 a.m. off Nos. 1 and 10 tees at Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge. For more information, please call Tournament Headquarters at (407) 876-8082.
