REINERTSON FIRES 4-UNDER-PAR 67 TO CLAIM SRIXION QUALIFIER TITLE
DiGrazia out-shoots Girls Division by two-strokes to take medalist honors

WALES, Wis. — Josh Reinertson of Gibbon, Neb., and Gianna DiGrazia of Addison, Ill., garnered medalist honors Sunday during the Srixion Qualifier for the Future Legends. Reinertson topped the Boys Division by shooting 4-under-par 67, while DiGrazia carried in a two-stroke victory in the Girls Divison. Reinertson and DiGrazia each qualified for the Future Legends tournament that is slated to begin Tuesday, June 27.

The Srixion Qualifier for the Future Legends was an 18-hole qualifier conducted by the American Junior Golf Association at The Legend at Brandybrook in Wales, Wis. The 100-qualifier field boasted juniors from 17 states.

Cool and cloudy conditions played no factor in Reinertson's game as he tallied three birdies on the day. He began by birding his first hole and then fired an eagle on a challenging par-5 thirteenth hole that measured 543 yards.

“I was able to hit a lot of fairways and greens today,” Reinertson said. “I gave myself chances to make birdies.”

Reinerston recorded a front nine score of 32 and went 1-under-par on the back en route to earning medalist honors and obtaining a position into the tournament field.

“I am excited to play in the tournament,” Reintertson said. “The course here is in really great shape. I plan to just relax and play my game later this week.”

Qualifying for the tournament from the state of Illinois are Taylor Krug from Hawthorn Woods, Maxwell Scodro from Chicago, Vincent India from Deerfield and Adam Dolezal from Lake Forest. Other qualifiers include Max Do of Lakewood, Calif., Justin Lee of Tarzana, Calif., Rob Stewart of Cincinnati, and Robert Christian of Oconomowoc, Wis.

After posting a bogey early in her round, DiGrazia was able to calm down and find her game by birding Nos. 13 and 14.

“I started out shaky today,” DiGrazia said. “Once I was able to relax, I started to birdie and play my own game.”

DiGrazia played a girls' course that ran 5903 yards. She was able to make par on seven holes and carded a 6-over-par 77 for the day.

“This course plays tough,” DiGrazia said. “The greens are incredibly fast. I was able to drive into the fairway today and that makes a long course easier to play.”

DiGrazia has chosen to opt out of the Future Legends tournament field due to prior commitments.

Qualifying in the Girls Division are Lindsey Solberg from Verona, Wis., Lindsay Danielson from Osceola, Wis., Brittany Atterbury from Rockton, Ill., and Maggie Boberg from Littleton, Colo.
