Prairie Village, Kan. -Devin Schreiner of Durango, Colo., carded a 1-under-par 70 to capture medalist honors in the Boys Division at the Srixon Qualifier for the Lockton Kansas City Junior. In the Girls Division, Kimberly Punyasavatsut of Anaheim, Calif., fired a 3-over-par 74 to claim first place.

The 18-hole event, part of the Srixon Qualifier Series, was conducted by the American Junior Golf Association at the Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club and featured 98 players from 18 states.

Schreiner, 17, played a steady round that featured 35s on both the front and back sides and included three birdies, two bogeys and 13 pars. Schreiner's consistent drives and chip-in for par on hole No. 10 helped him capture the low round of the tournament.

“I feel great about how I played today,” Schreiner said. “I tried to just start off the day having fun and throughout the tournament the fun turned into a good round of golf.”

Also qualifying in the Boys Division were Jamie Voegeli of Muskogee, Okla.; Paul Soener of Des Moines, Iowa; Ryan Weinhaus of Chesterfield, Mo.; Will Hogan of Ozark, Mo.; Justin Onken of Omaha, Neb.; Nathan Chambers of Purcell, Okla.; Brent Whitehead of Marietta, Ga.; Tyler Peasel of Troy, Mo.; Nicholas Wilson of Rocheport, Mo.; and Patrick Roth of Prairie Village, Kan. Taylor Lucas of Collierville, Tenn.; Kevin Gillick of Lincoln, Neb.; and Mark Ledom of Leawood, Kan. qualified via a sudden death playoff. Justin Morehead of Newport Beach, Calif.; Jack Kasting of Jenks, Okla.; Ryan Siman of Tyler, Texas; and Austin Uhl of Phoenix, Ariz., also qualified but opted to take an AJGA Tournament Exemption in lieu of playing in this week's event.

Punyasavatsut, 17, was happy with her score that included one birdie, four bogies and 13 pars, but believed she could have made a few more birdies. Punyasavatsut stuck each of her tee shots near the flagsticks on the par-3s, but wasn't able to follow up with birdie putts.

“If I didn't leave a lot of my putts short, I could have made more birdies to help my score,” Punyasavatsut said. “Overall I was happy with how my round turned out and now I am just going to work on my putting for the rest of the tournament.”

Also qualifying in the Girls Division were Jonelle Martinez of Santa Fe, N.M.; and Morgan Chambers of Purcell, Okla., and Jordan Nixon of Salina, Kan. qualified via a sudden death playoff.
