Texas, fired a 1-over-par 72 to grab medalist honors
in the Boys Division of the AJGA Texace San Antonio
Shootout Qualifier. Traci Robison of Arlington, Texas,
led the Girls Division with an 82.
The qualifier, which featured 16 girls and 84 boys,
was conducted by the American Junior Golf Association

The 18-year-old Piller credits a par save on No. 15
as the turning point in his round.
"I hooked my 5-iron right of the green and left
myself a thick lie," Pillar said. "I hit a
chunk shot on the green and sank a 20-footer for par."
All eight qualifiers in the Boys Division hail from
Texas. Zach Drennan of San Angelo; Preston Lancaster
of Dallas; Ryan Atkinson of Seguin; Greg Koch of Wichita
Falls; Aaron Sides of Lubbock; Bryan Boyd of Austin;
and Tim Ibbotson of Austin make up the remaining qualifiers.
Boyd and Ibbotson qualified after a one-hole playoff.
In the Girls Division, Robison qualified for only her
second AJGA tournament. After a quadruple bogey on No.
17, the 17-year-old recovered with a birdie on No. 18
en route to a 39-43--82.
"I'm nervous but I think I'll do fine," Robison
said. "I played solid today and I feel good about
my chances."

qualifier spot in the Girls Division with a 42-41--83.
