Dates to remember
To better prepare AJGA members in the tournament application process, each week we will preview tournaments with upcoming application deadlines. The following tournament applications are now open and will close on Tuesday, April 30 at 5 p.m. ET.
Evitt Foundation RTC Junior All-Star
will be played at WindStone Golf Club in Ringgold, Ga., June 3-6. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 66 Boys spots and 21 Girls spots.
Currently in its 11th year on the AJGA schedule, the Evitt Foundation RTC Junior All-Star has received numerous awards, including the Hospitality Award (2003), the Media Award (2004), and the Volunteer Award (2010). Most recently, the tournament was named the 2012 Junior All-Star of the Year.
Steelwood Country Club, which was rated by Golf Digest as the fifth best new private course in the nation when it opened in 1997, will host the event for the sixth time.
AJGA Kansas Junior at Buffalo Dunes
will be played at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kan., June 3-6. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 62 Boys spots and 19 Girls spots.
Buffalo Dunes welcomes the AJGA for the first time. Ranked by Golf Digest as the No. 1 municipally-owned golf course in Kansas, Buffalo Dunes is the host of the Southwest Kansas Pro-Am which has featured names such as Lee Janzen, Tony Weiskopf and Stewart Cink.
PING Phoenix Junior at ASU Karsten
will be played at Karsten Golf Course at ASU in Tempe, Ariz., June 3-6. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 47 Boys spots and 17 Girls spots.
The tournament is played on the Karsten Golf at ASU, where notable Sun Devil alumni including Paul Casey, Phil Mickelson, Billy Mayfair, JoAnne Carner, the late Heather Farr and Grace Park competed.
AJGA Junior at Quad Cities
will be played at Short Hills Country Club in East Moline, Ill., June 4-7. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 79 Boys spots and 27 Girls spots.
Short Hills Country Club will host the tournament for the third consecutive year. In 2011, 10-time AJGA Champion and University of Alabama freshman Emma Talley captured her seventh career AJGA victory.
