Registration open for USGA Junior Championships

USGA Championship Applications

Registration is open for the 2014 U.S. Junior Amateur and U.S. Girls’ Junior Amateur championships. These national championships, conducted by the United States Golf Association, attract some of the strongest fields in junior golf.

Registration is available for both championships through 5 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, June 4.
 
The 2014 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship is scheduled for July 21-26 at The Club at Carlton Woods (Nicklaus Course) in The Woodlands, Texas. The 2014 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship will also be held July 21-26, and will take place at Forest Highlands Golf Club (Meadow Course) in Flagstaff, Ariz.
 
Sectional qualifying for the U.S. Junior Amateur will be conducted over 36 holes at 61 sites across the country between June 9 and July 1. To be eligible for the U.S. Junior Amateur, each player must have a Handicap Index® not exceeding 6.4.
 
For the U.S. Girls’ Junior, sectional qualifying will be conducted over 18 holes at 35 sites across the country, also between June 9 and July 1. For the U.S. Girls’ Junior, each player must have a Handicap Index® not exceeding 18.4.
 
Each championship will be comprised of a field of 156 players. Following 36 holes of stroke play qualifying, the top 64 scorers will advance to match play.

Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
