Twelve singles matches decided the 2012 Junior Ryder Cup final, where the United States prevailed to win the biennial competition, 14.5-9.5. Casie Cathrea, Karen Chung, Robby Shelton IV, Casey Danielson, Alison Lee, Gavin Hall and Esther Lee won their singles matches and Cameron Champ halved his match, contributing to the United States victory. This marks the third consecutive time the United States has won the U.S.-Europe matchup.

An all-AJGA team representing the United States took the lead after day one of the 2012 Junior Ryder Cup, Sept. 23-24, at Olympia Fields. As Monday’s final match was completed on Tuesday morning due to play being suspended because of darkness, Alison Lee and Gavin Hall halved the match against Europe’s Toby Tree and Gavin Moynihan to give the U.S. Team a 7-5 lead over Europe.

Collectively, the U.S. Junior Ryder Cup Team has recorded 21 AJGA victories and has accumulated 22 years of Rolex Junior All-America honors.

The U.S. team is comprised of current AJGA members: Casie Cathrea of Livermore, Calif., Cameron Champ of Sacramento, Calif., Karen Chung of Livingston, N.J., Casey Danielson of Osceola, Wis., Gavin Hall of Pittsford, N.Y., Beau Hossler of Mission Viejo, Calif., Alison Lee of Valencia, Calif., Esther Lee of Los Alamitos, Calif., Jim Liu of Smithtown, N.Y., Scott Scheffler of Dallas, Robby Shelton IV of Wilmer, Ala., and Samantha Wagner of Windermere, Fla.
