Leading sports towel company to help provide opportunities for Midwest juniors

BRASELTON, Ga.McArthur Towel & Sports, the leading manufacturer of licensed terry products, announced a partnership with the American Junior Golf Association as a tournament title sponsor of the McArthur Towel & Sports Future Legends, July 14-17.


The 54-hole stroke play event will feature a field of 90 junior golfers, boys and girls ages 12-18, from approximately 15 states. The tournament will be conducted for the fifth year in Wisconsin, but this year will be held on the Legend at Bergamont course in Oregon, Wis.

In addition to supporting the tournament, McArthur Towel & Sports will be the exclusive supplier of tournament towels, which have been a staple in AJGA tournaments since 1985.

McArthur Towel & Sports, a family-owned and operated wholesaler, was founded in 1885 in Baraboo, Wis., and currently distributes its products to spas, health clubs, YMCAs, schools, universities and government agencies. McArthur designs and distributes products under licenses with professional teams in the National Football League, Major League Baseball, National Collegiate Athletic Association, National Basketball Association, National Hockey League and USA Hockey. McArthur Towel Sports is also actively involved programs such as the Super Bowl Trophy Towel, Pittsburgh Steelers Terrible Towel and Gatorade Bench Towel.

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. The AJGA, the largest Association of its kind, has an annual junior membership (boys and girls ages 12-18) of approximately 5,000 junior golfers from 50 states and 30 foreign countries.

Titleist, the AJGA’s National Sponsor, has been the catalyst and driving force behind the Association’s success since 1989. Rolex Watch USA, which is in its third decade of AJGA support, became the inaugural AJGA Premier Partner in 2004. In 2007, after 12 years of support, Polo Ralph Lauren became the AJGA’s second Premier Partner.

AJGA alumni have risen to the top of amateur, collegiate and professional golf. More than 250 former AJGA juniors currently play on the PGA and LPGA Tours and have compiled more than 300 wins. AJGA alumni include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Stewart Cink, Davis Love III, Cristie Kerr, Pat Hurst, Paula Creamer, Brittany Lincicome, Morgan Pressel and Julieta Granada.
