My Scotty Cameron Moment

Each week, the AJGA honors the boy and girl junior golfers who shoot the lowest round during the final tournament round. Each of these players will be presented with one of this year's new Scotty Cameron putter covers in silver or gold. In this feature, we will hear from the players each week who take home this honor and what helped them get there.

Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Boyne Highlands

“My best shot was definitely on No. 14,” said Zachary Balit of Bradenton, Fla., who shot a final-round 68 and went on to win the event. “I was about 100 feet out and holed my approach shot with my pitching wedge. That helped me win the tournament for sure.”

“On the first hole, I chipped in for birdie,” said Madison Pressel of Boca Raton, Fla., who shot an even-par 72 during the final round. “I hit it just short of the greenside bunker and chipped in from 35 yards out.”

“On No. 15, I was 110 out and I chipped in the rough,” said tournament champion Grace Na of Oakland, Calif., who also shot a final-round 72. “I was deciding between my putter and chipper but my putter was not doing that well today. I decided to chip and holed out for a birdie.”

Rolex Tournament of Champions

“The first hole was my most memorable hole because I haven’t gotten off to the best of start the past two days,” said Tommy Chung Hao Mou of Bradenton, Fla., who shot a final-round 2-under-par 70. “I hit the fairway, then hit my approach to about 18 feet and made the putt.”

“I hit a really good drive on No. 17 and hit a good shot to about 12 feet and made the putt,” said Victoria Sungmin Park of Irvine, Calif., who carded a final-round 70. “So that was definitely my best hole.”

“I hit a drive on No. 18 that was fading toward the water, but it wound up carrying and I only had a 9-iron into the green,” said Allie White of Lancaster, Ohio, who shot a final-round 70. “I haven’t been hitting my drives that great, so that was memorable for me.”

“I was just off the green on No. 13 about 15 yards from the hole and I decided to putt it because I was on the fringe and it was perfect,” said Andrew Yun of Tacoma, Wash., who carded a final-round 70. “It was a really improbable birdie on that hole.”

Junior All-Star at Marshallia Ranch

“My shot from the fairway on No. 18 ended up below the bunker so I used my pitching wedge to get it up on the green,” said Jessica Vasilic of Anaheim Hills, Calif., who shot a 2-over-par 74 during the final round. “It was about 40 feet to the green. I then putted for birdie from five feet."

Junior All-Star at Nemacolin

"I made back-to-back birdies on Nos. 12 and 13 both from my work on the green," said Joo-Young Lee of Hilliard, Ohio, who shot a final-round 1-under-par 71. "I had a 12-foot putt on 12 and a 40-foot putt on 13."

"I made five 5-foot putts,” said Gavin Hall of Pittsford, N.Y., who carded a 71 during the final round. “It kept me with my steady game, and kept my momentum going strong"

"On No. 18, I hooked my drive left,” said Victoria Newbury of Williamsburg, Va., who shot a final-round 75. “But from there, I punched my 7-iron onto the fairway and shot my 8-iron 20 feet from the hole. I got the putt in for birdie."
