The Bag Boy® Company Named “Preferred Push Cart of the AJGA”
Bag Boy Company, AJGA Partner to Create Bag Boy Multimedia Center

The Bag Boy Company has become the “Preferred Push Cart of the AJGA,” the American Junior Golf Association announced Monday. The partnership reflects recent progress in the 30-year history of the AJGA, as its key components involve the enhancement of the AJGA Web site and a significant policy change benefiting juniors at AJGA tournaments.

In 2008, the AJGA began allowing the use of push carts during Junior All-Star Series events because of health concerns for young players carrying heavy golf bags. The Bag Boy Company will provide demo push carts and educational information to players at the 10 Junior All-Star Series events regarding the benefits of push carts.

In addition, the creation of The Bag Boy Company Multimedia Center on the AJGA Web site will provide a new home for AJGA videos, tournament video blogs and photo galleries. Throughout 2008, the Bag Boy Multimedia Center will include fresh features on a bi-weekly basis, as well as daily content from AJGA Invitationals. New segments will include “Five Questions” and “One Minute Hits.”

Bag Boy has been one of the most respected brands in golf since 1946, building their reputation on unmatched quality and unsurpassed durability.

“We are extremely excited to announce this new partnership with Bag Boy,” said Jason Etzen, AJGA executive vice president of corporate partnerships. “With their support, we will be able to bring a new component to our Web site – The Bag Boy Company Multimedia Center – that will benefit all of our members, their families and our supporters. It will also be an excellent way to introduce the added health benefits of push carts to our juniors.”

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

The largest Association of its kind, the AJGA has an annual junior membership (boys and girls ages 12-18) of more than 5,000 junior golfers from 49 states and more than 25 foreign countries.

Titleist, the AJGA’s National Sponsor, has been the catalyst and driving force behind the Association’s success since 1989. Rolex Watch USA, which is in its third decade of AJGA support, became the inaugural AJGA Premier Partner in 2004. In 2007, after 12 years of support, Polo Ralph Lauren became the AJGA’s second Premier Partner.

AJGA alumni have risen to the top of amateur, collegiate and professional golf. More than 160 former AJGA juniors currently play on the PGA and LPGA Tours and have compiled more than 300 wins. AJGA alumni include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Stewart Cink, Davis Love III, Cristie Kerr, Pat Hurst, Paula Creamer, Brittany Lincicome, Morgan Pressel and Julieta Granada.
