My Scotty Cameron Moment

Each week, the AJGA honors the boy and girl junior golfers who shoot the lowest round during the final tournament round. Each of these players will be presented with one of this year's new Scotty Cameron putter covers in silver or gold. In this feature, we will hear from the players each week who take home this honor and what helped them get there.

"The best part of my day was on No. 4," said Shannon Aubert of Augusta, Ga., who fired a final-round 4-over-par 77 to earn low final-round honors. "I hit it in the rough from my tee shot and then hit it with a pitching wedge to two or three feet from the hole. It was great because I had bogeys on two and three and I felt relief with that birdie."

"My Scotty Cameron moment was on No. 11. I thought about hitting a 4-iron, but decided to switch and use my driver," said James Feutz of University Place, Wash., who shot a final-round 6-under-par 66. "My drive landed just behind the water. Then I hit my 6-iron within three feet of the hole and holed out for eagle."

"My Scotty Cameron moment was on the par-4 No. 16," said Jessica Vasilic of Anaheim Hills, Calif., who's 1-over-par 73 earned her low final-round honors. "I hit my 8-iron from the rough to within two feet of the hole. I ended up making birdie."

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age.
