HP Endows ACE Grant with Long-term Agreement
Technology company to endow ACE Grant

HP, a technology company, has signed a three-year extension (2009-2011) to its Official Partnership of the American Junior Golf Association.

HP, a 14-year sponsor of the AJGA, will continue the support of its three existing components of the sponsorship:  the HP Boys Junior Championship, the Sta-Green® Care for the Course initiative and the HP Scholastic Junior All-America Team. Two new components of the agreement include the endowment of an Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant and providing a yearly technology upgrade for the Association.

Through the ACE Grant program, the AJGA offers financial assistance to juniors who can compete at the national junior golf level, but are limited due to financial constraints. The AJGA believes the opportunity to earn a college golf scholarship should not be limited to juniors who can afford to travel and play a national junior golf schedule. This is the second commitment to endow an ACE Grant in the history of the Association.

The HP Boys Junior Championship, which is currently held at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge, will be moving to the Houston area and held over President’s Day Weekend beginning in 2009. HP’s involvement with the Sta-Green® Care for the Course initiative is to provide divot repair tools to all participants so they can properly take care of the golf course. The HP Scholastic All-America Team recognizes junior golfers for their exceptional work on the golf course and in the classroom.

“We are very excited to continue our support of the AJGA,” said John Dayan, HP’s vice president of marketing. “We feel it is very important to support our leaders of tomorrow. By endowing an ACE Grant, we hope to help aspiring golfers gain access to a college education that will give them the tools they need to be successful.”

HP focuses on simplifying technology experiences for all of its customers – from individual consumers to the largest businesses. With a portfolio that spans printing, personal computing, software, services and IT infrastructure, HP is among the world’s largest IT companies, with revenue totaling $104.3 billion for the four fiscal quarters ended Oct. 31, 2007. More information about HP (NYSE: HPQ) is available at http://www.hp.com.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with HP,” said Jason Etzen, AJGA executive vice president of corporate partnerships. “The company has been instrumental to the success of our organization for the past 14 years and we look forward to many more.”
