STANFORD FINANCIAL GROUP TO SPONSOR AJGA EVENT IN MEMPHIS
David Gossett Junior Championship presented by Stanford Financial Group July 30-Aug. 2

Memphis, Tenn. — Stanford Financial Group, a global group of financial services companies, has become a sponsor of the American Junior Golf Association, sponsoring the national organization’s annual junior golf championship in Memphis. Stanford will serve as Presenting Sponsor of the David Gossett Junior Championship in 2007 and take over as Title Sponsor in 2008.

This year’s event will take place July 30-Aug. 2 at TPC Southwind in Memphis, the home of the PGA TOUR’s Stanford St. Jude Championship held in June. The David Gossett Junior Championship is an 84-player, 54-hole event that features the nation’s top junior boys and girls, ages 12-18. The first round will be held Tuesday, July 31, with the second and final rounds being played Wednesday, Aug. 1 and Thursday, Aug. 2, respectively.  The event is free for the public.

The 2008 event is set to take place July 28-31 at TPC Southwind.

“We’re glad to be able to support the AJGA and this significant event,” said Suzanne Hamm, Chief Marketing Officer/North America for Stanford.  “We’ve expanded our footprint in the game of golf with title sponsorship of the Memphis PGA TOUR event as well as by partnering with key professionals like Vijay Singh and David Toms who’ve become Stanford ambassadors.  But we know that you don’t get to the PGA TOUR without the proper training and competition as a young adult.  This tournament and the work of the AJGA is vitally important in grooming the champions that will become tomorrow’s golf legends.  That’s worthy of our support, but when you add in the fact that the event benefits St. Jude, our corporate charity of choice, we had no hesitation in saying yes.”

“The AJGA is very pleased to announce this new agreement with Stanford, which will ensure the future of our tournament in Memphis,” said Jason Etzen, AJGA Executive Vice President of Corporate Partnerships. “We have conducted an event at TPC Southwind since 2005 and every time, it has been a great success. We look forward to continuing on that track with the assistance of Stanford.”
