Junior Round-up

Isabelle Lendl

Isabelle Lendl and John Hahn were victorious at the Scott Robertson Memorial. Lendl, the tournament's defending champion, shot a 2-under-par 211, while Hahn posted an 11-under-par 202.

Ryo Ishikawa, 15 years old, won the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup title on the Japan Tour. He is the youngest player to ever win on the Japan Tour.

College Round-up

Georgia ran away with the Men's East Regional, topping Florida by 12 strokes after posting a team total 9-under-par 855. The Bulldogs were led by Brendon Todd, who shared co-medalist honors with Florida's Billy Horschel. Both players shot matching 6-under-par 210s.

South Carolina won the Men's West Regional with a team total 44-under-par 820. Benjamin Alvarado of Arizona State captured the individual title with a 18-under-par 198.

Tulsa took first place in the Men's Central Regional with a team total 31-over-par 895. Wisconsin's Dan Woltman tied for medalist honors with Lamar's Dawie Van der Walt. Each player shot a 1-under-par 215.

Amanda Blumenherst has been named recipient of the eighth annual Nancy Lopez Award, presented annually to the world’s most outstanding female amateur golfer.

Professional Round-up

Masters champion Zach Johnson won the PGA TOUR's AT&T Classic. Johnson defeated Ryuji Imada with a birdie on the first playoff hole.

Lorena Ochoa won the LPGA Tour's Sybase Classic with an 18-under-par 270. Ochoa took over the No. 1 spot in the rankings last month.

Nick Flanagan won his second Nationwide Tour event, the BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs. Flanagan fired a 15-under-par 217 to win by one stroke. One more Nationwide Tour victory and he will be promoted to the PGA TOUR.

ACE

The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program provides financial assistance to junior golfers who wish to play in AJGA events. Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
