| Looking ahead to the 2008 schedule
Before the 2007 summer season even
starts, the American Junior Golf Association is busy
preparing the 2008 schedule.
And help is needed.
“We are seeking top-notch companies
and golf courses whose goals are the same as those
of the AJGA,” said
Jason Etzen, executive vice president of corporate
partnerships. “We want to provide the best experiences
for junior golfers across the nation and help them
access the best competition for college scholarships.”

Many referrals to sponsors and courses
begin within the AJGA membership and from friends of
the association. For example, Jeff Silverstein, a former
AJGA parent, was featured in February’s issue
of The
Link for his wide range
of assistance to the association.
Every year Silverstein orchestrates the I.R.I./Srixon
Mixed Team Championship hosted by Jim Furyk, a unique
format event where juniors participate more for the
fun and atmosphere but still have some great competition
amongst their peers. The Championship is held at Arizona
National Golf Club, which is one of many courses that
donate the use of their facilities to the AJGA.

Sponsorship benefits mainly include media exposure
and sales promotion. The AJGA represents the best in
world-class junior golf. As title sponsor, representatives
will be afforded many opportunities to build long-lasting
business relationships, enjoy significant national
branding and receive national exposure.
Many properties include an AJGA tournament as a part
of their overall marketing strategy because of the
promotional opportunities with television, internet,
radio, print and signage at the event.
Other benefits are hospitality and entertainment options.
Many businesses bring guests, employees or clients
to AJGA events to see the unique environment and have
the opportunity to play a round of golf at a top-notch
golf course with a future star of the game.
If you know of a sponsor or golf course which may
want to be involved with the AJGA in 2008 and beyond,
