Capitol Federal, the premier residential lender and
savings bank in Kansas, invests in the communities
it serves. Since 1893, the company and its employees
have given back to its communities in countless ways
including financial grants to local charities and employee
volunteerism.
One of the causes that Capitol Federal has chosen
to support is junior golf and the American Junior Golf
Association. Thanks to the support of Capitol Federal,
99 junior golfers will have the opportunity to gain
exposure for valuable college golf scholarships at
the Lockton/Capitol Federal Kansas City Junior. The
annual event will take place July 30-August 2 at Indian
Hills Country Club.
“Capitol Federal is happy with its association
with the AJGA,” said Capitol Federal Foundation
President Jack H. Hamilton. “We feel our sponsorship
of this tournament affords youth the opportunity to
learn golf and its etiquette. It is a great way to
prepare them for life and to encourage their pursuit
of college scholarships to enhance their educational
and golfing experiences.”
The AJGA is very appreciative of the support given
by Capitol Federal. Because of the generosity of its
sponsors like Capitol Federal, the AJGA is able to
conduct first-class events at wonderful venues. And
many of the participants will go on to earn college
golf scholarships.
Helping high school students gain a college education
is an initiative of Capitol Federal. Through its Foundation,
grants are awarded to business students at seven Kansas
colleges and universities who are high school graduates
from Capitol Federal market areas with a minimum grade
point average of 3.35.
These are just a couple of the ways that Capitol Federal
is giving back to the communities it serves.
