Junior Round-up

Vicky Hurst of Melbourne, Fla., will tee it up this week in the LPGA Tour's Ginn OPEN at Reunion Resort & Club in Reunion, Fla.

Fujikawa will try to make the cut at two more professional events.

Tadd Fujikawa of Honolulu, who made headlines when he made the cut at the PGA TOUR's Sony Open in January, has accepted invitations to play in two more professional events. Fujikawa will tee it up in the PGA TOUR's Reno-Tahoe Open in August and the Japan Tour's Chunichi Crowns at the end of this month.

Spencer Cole of Greer, S.C., Russell Henley of Macon, Ga., Andrew Putnam of University Place, Wash., and Steve Ziegler of Broomfield, Colo., have been selected to represent the United States at the 2007 World Junior Golf Team Championship June 19-22 at Chukyo Golf Club in Toyota City, Japan.

College Round-up

Michigan State took top honors at the Boilermaker Invitational with a 17-over-par 593. The Spartans were led by Ryan Brehm, who claimed the individual title with a 2-under-par 142.

Jason Parajeckas of the University of Connecticut captured the individual crown at the Yale Mens Spring Open with a 2-over-par 142.

Seton Hall's Kyle Morris fired a 2-under-par 69 to take individual honors at the Navy Spring Invitational.

The Michigan women captured their first spring victory at the Indiana Invitational with a 27-over-par 603. Illinois' Seul Ki Park claimed medalist honors with an even-par 144.

Purdue won the Bryan National Collegiate with a 27-over-par 887. The Boilersmakers were led by Maria Hernandez, who won the individual title with a 1-under-par 215. She bested Florida's Sandra Gal in a playoff.

Stanford took top team honors at the Peg Barnard California Collegiate with a 4-over-par 472. Kay Hoey of Long Beach State claimed medalist honors with a 8-under-par 134.

Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
