Junior Round-up

Alexandra Bodemann of Palm City, Fla., took home the title at the Doherty Cup last week in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. On the 21st hole, Bodemann clinched the win over Olivia Briggs. The victory is the first for Bodemann.

AJGA junior Sydnee Michaels

 

AJGA rising senior Sydnee Michaels of Temecula, Calif., has been extended an invitation to play at this year's LPGA Kraft Nabisco Championship. Held at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif., the event is the LPGA's first major of the season. Also invited to play in the event are the 2005 Rolex Junior Player of the Year Morgan Pressel and three-time Rolex Junior All-American Brittany Lang.

 

Professional Round-up

Tiger Woods started his year off on the right foot winning the Buick Invitational on Sunday. The two-time Rolex Junior Player of the Year won on the second playoff hole at Torrey Pines.

ACE

The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program provides financial assistance to junior golfers who wish to play in AJGA events. Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.
Leadership Links

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
