Regional Leadership Program

The Regional Leadership Program is a network of parents, alumni and friends of the AJGA who assist the Board of Directors and the AJGA Advancement staff with the Association's development programs. These regional leaders will serve as advocates and help achieve the Association's development goals for volunteerism and fundraising in particular parts of the country.

The purpose of the Regional Leadership Program is to further the development of the AJGA from a regional and local perspective. The program will also allow Annual Fund leaders in different regions the opportunity to give back by promoting the AJGA and our mission from a grassroots level. Working together with the AJGA staff, leaders will assist in streamlining current operations and maximizing the value of membership in each geographical area.

Areas of Contribution

Regional Leaders can help in a number of different ways:

Increase Fundraising - Partner with Regional Volunteers to solicit new potential donors, upgrade existing donors to leadership levels, and identify regional fundraising opportunities in order to help the "Growing Opportunities" Annual Fund and Capital Program.
Develop Sponsorship Opportunities - Assist the development staff in identifying and contacting potential corporate sponsors for events and special programs.
Provide Feedback - Provide suggestions and brainstorm ideas on how the AJGA can improve in a particular area
Assist Tournament Chairmen - Assist local Tournament Chairmen in developing Junior-Am fundraising and volunteer contacts for our events.
Expand Overall Awareness - Work with local media, city commissions, associations and/or other regional leaders to promote and spread awareness of the AJGA, our mission, special programs and our support of local grass-roots junior golf programs.
Identify Tournament Sites - Recognize potential tournament sites locally.

AJGA's Role with the Regional Leadership Program

Working with the Regional Leaders, the goal is to create a team atmosphere in which information, ideas and feedback are constantly exchanged to meet development objectives. Regional Leaders are the eyes and ears on the grassroots level who can provide services and tools specific to each region. The AJGA development staff will maintain regular communication with the leaders to keep them up to date on news, goals and initiatives. Through this two-way relationship leaders will be encouraged to contribute new ideas and suggestions for improvement.
