Overton gives back to local junior golf
Jeff Overton competed in AJGA events from 1999-2001, winning the 2001 Optimist International Junior and earning Rolex Junior All-American Honorable Mention accolades in 2001. The PGA TOUR professional from Evansville, Ind., competed at Indiana University, turned professional in 2005 and has since amassed 30 top-10 finishes on the PGA TOUR.
Otter Creek Golf Course
Designed by Robert Trent Jones and his son Rees Jones, Otter Creek Golf Course utilizes the natural rolling hills of Southern Indiana to provide a challenging layout. With a links-style setup, the public facility boasts 27 holes. Otter Creek has hosted the AJGA six times.
Defending champion returns
Braden Thornberry of Olive Branch, Miss., was crowned champion of the inaugural Under Armour® / Jeff Overton Championship hosted by Otter Creek in 2013 on the strength of a final-round 3-under-par 69 and tournament-total 7-under-par 209. The Ole Miss verbal commit will return in 2014 to defend his title in search of his third AJGA victory.

Top Players to Watch

Braden Thornberry, Olive Branch, Miss. (2015)
Thornberry arrives as the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 65 in the Polo Golf Rankings. The Ole Miss verbal commit secured his first AJGA victory at the 2012 Evitt Foundation RTC Junior All-Star. In 2013, Thornberry notched his first AJGA Open win at the Under Armour® / Jeff Overton Championship hosted by Otter Creek, and looks to defend that title this year. Thornberry was an honorable mention Rolex Junior All-American in 2013.
Davis Shore, Knoxville, Tenn. (2017)
At No. 84 in the Polo Golf Rankings, Shore enters the event with an impressive two-year AJGA resume. With six top-10 showings in national competition, Shore looks to best his AJGA career-high finish of third at the 2013 Junior All-Star at Red Tail.
Kesaree Rojanapeansatith, Nonthaburi, Thailand (2017)
In her three starts, Rojanapeansatith has finished T4 or better in each. Rojanapeansatith was crowned champion of the 2013 David Toms Foundation Shreveport Junior and is currently No. 94 in the Polo Golf Rankings, the highest of any competitor in the Girls Division.
Erin Harper, Dublin, Ohio (2015)
Harper has competed in AJGA events since 2010, recording three top-10 finishes. In 2013, Harper finished T3 at the Under Armour® / Jeff Overton Championship hosted by Otter Creek. Harper has verbally committed to play college golf at Indiana University.

Media Accommodations

The Under Armour® / Jeff Overton Championship hosted by Otter Creek will have AJGA communications representatives on hand to assist media throughout the week. Prior to the tournament the AJGA will provide information about the event and its participants, as well as assist with player interviews.

After each round, media officials on-site will write a recap with the day's results. These will be emailed to all media outlets. Interviews with AJGA Tournament Directors, Tournament Chairmen and juniors may be conducted before or after tournament rounds.

About the AJGA

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. The AJGA provides valuable exposure for college golf scholarships, and has an annual junior membership (boys and girls ages 12-18) of approximately 6,000 junior golfers from 49 states and more than 50 countries. To ensure scholarship opportunities for all junior golfers who have the skill, the AJGA created the Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program to provide financial assistance to young players in need.

AJGA alumni have risen to the top of amateur, collegiate and professional golf. Former AJGA juniors have compiled more than 500 victories on the PGA and LPGA Tours. AJGA alumni include Brandt Snedeker, Bubba Watson, Webb Simpson, Hunter Mahan, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Stacy Lewis, Vicky Hurst, Paula Creamer, Cristie Kerr, Brittany Lincicome and Morgan Pressel.
