Gary Woodland supports junior golf in home state
Woodland, an AJGA alum, competed on the Kansas men's golf team and was a two-time All-Big 12 performer. At 47 in the Official World Golf Rankings, Woodland is one of five former AJGA juniors who are current PGA TOUR players that have teamed up with Under Armour® to host events in or near their hometowns. Other players to host events are Hunter Mahan, Jeff Overton, Scott Stallings and Jordan Spieth.
Future Jayhawk competing in Lawrence
Kallie Gonzales of Montgomery, Texas, has verbally committed to play on the Kansas women's golf team. Gonzales has three top-10 AJGA finishes, including a career best T6 at the 2012 McArthur Towel & Sports Future Legends.

Top Players to Watch

Tripp Kinney, West Des Moines, Iowa (2016)
Kinney, of West Des Moines, Iowa, opened his year with a second-place showing at the Preseason Junior at Winnetka and followed it up with a top-15 finish at the AJGA St. Louis Junior. Kinney is the top-ranked boy in the field.
Ariadna Fonseca, (Venezuela) Winter Garden, Fla. (2015)
Fonseca opened 2014 with a third-place finish at the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Junior at Innisbrook hosted by Sean O'Hair, adding to her already lengthy list of career top-10 showings. At T67 in the Polo Golf Rankings, Fonseca is the highest ranked player in the tournament field.

Media Accommodations

The Under Armour® / Gary Woodland Championship presented by Income for Life, LLC will have AJGA communications representatives on hand to assist media throughout the week. Prior to the tournament the AJGA will provide information about the event and its participants, as well as assist with player interviews.

After each round, media officials on-site will write a recap with the day's results. These will be emailed to all media outlets. Interviews with AJGA Tournament Directors, Tournament Chairmen and juniors may be conducted before or after tournament rounds.

About the AJGA

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. The AJGA provides valuable exposure for college golf scholarships, and has an annual junior membership (boys and girls, ages 12-18) of more than 6,300 members from 48 states and more than 50 foreign countries. Through initiatives like the Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant, a financial assistance program, and Leadership Links, a service-oriented platform that teaches juniors charitable-giving skills, the AJGA fosters the growth of golf’s next generation.
