Tournament Storylines

First-time host
The inaugural Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Sugarloaf is the second event on the AJGA schedule sponsored by Coca-Cola. The host course, Sugarloaf Mountain Resort, has been named the No. 1 golf course in Maine by Golf Digest 29 times.
Sister act
Oi Lam Michelle Yan of Bradenton, Fla., is the second highest-ranked player in the Girls Division at No. 86 in the Polo Golf Rankings. Yan is coming off a win at the Junior All-Star at Red Tail in June. The 2016 grad has eight-career top-10 AJGA finishes. Her sister, Hiu Lam Vanessa Yan, who is also in the field has posted seven-career top-10 AJGA finishes.

Media Accommodations

The Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Sugarloaf will have AJGA communications representatives on hand to assist media throughout the week. Prior to the tournament the AJGA will provide information about the event and its participants, as well as assist with player interviews.

After each round, media officials on-site will write a recap with the day's results. These will be emailed to all media outlets. Interviews with AJGA Tournament Directors, Tournament Chairmen and juniors may be conducted before or after tournament rounds.

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.
