Penn State Golf Course plays host to AJGA event
This is the fifth consecutive year that Penn State Golf Courses have hosted an AJGA event, but the first time they have hosted an AJGA Open event. The course previously hosted Junior All-Star events.
Keystone state flavor
45 players hailing from the state of Pennsylvania will compete in the AJGA Junior at Penn State this week, but only one player in the field calls State College home. Ben Gelenberg, a sophomore at State College Area High School, is competing in the AJGA event at Penn State for the second year in a row. Last year, Gelenberg recorded rounds of 77-81-77-235 to finish T38.

Top Players to Watch

Cheng Jin, Beijing, China (2016)
Jin is the highest-ranked player in the Boys Division at No. 21 in the Polo Golf Rankings. In 2012, Jin recorded T4 finishes at both the AJGA Junior Challenge and the AJGA Junior at Robinson Ranch. At the 2012 Genesis Junior Championship, Jin put together rounds of 69-66-65-200 to take home his first AJGA championship.
Cody Dazen, Shamong, N.J. (2013)
Dazen, who will continue his golf career at the University of Delaware, is competing at Penn State Golf Course for the first time since 2010. Dazen's career is highlighted by a T15 finish at the 2012 William Penn Junior Championship.
Julie Luo, Centreville, Va. (2015)
The highest ranked player in the Girls Division field, Luo is No. 42 in the Polo Golf Rankings. Luo recorded three top-five finishes in 2012 AJGA competition, including a win at he 2012 Woodward Video Junior at The Greenbrier. Luo returns to Penn State for the first time since 2011, where she placed fourth at the 2011 Junior All-Star at Penn State.
Lauren Waller, Canonsburg, Pa. (2015)
Waller, who won the 2012 Junior All-Star at Penn State, returns to State College looking to record her second AJGA victory. In 2012, Waller posted scores of 74-72-71-217 on Penn State Golf Courses' Blue Course, the same course the tournament will be held on this week.

Media Accommodations

The AJGA Junior at Penn State will have AJGA communications representatives on hand to assist media throughout the week. Prior to the tournament the AJGA will provide information about the event and its participants, as well as assist with player interviews.

After each round, media officials on-site will write a recap with the day's results. These will be emailed to all media outlets. Interviews with AJGA Tournament Directors, Tournament Chairmen and juniors may be conducted before or after tournament rounds.

About the AJGA

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. The AJGA provides valuable exposure for college golf scholarships, and has an annual junior membership (boys and girls ages 12-18) of approximately 6,000 junior golfers from 49 states and more than 50 countries. To ensure scholarship opportunities for all junior golfers who have the skill, the AJGA created the Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program to provide financial assistance to young players in need.

Rolex, which is in its fourth decade of AJGA support, became the inaugural AJGA Premier Partner in 2004. In 2007, after 12 years of support, Ralph Lauren became the AJGA's second Premier Partner.
