AJGA QUALIFIER CANCELLED AT RED TAIL GOLF CLUB
Performance Based Entry fills out SAP Junior Open field

AVON, Ohio β€” Torrential downpours and continuous thunderstorms forced the American Junior Golf Association Tournament Committee to cancel the AJGA Qualifier for the SAP Junior Open Sunday. Twelve boys and four girls were selected via Performance Based Entry to compete in the tournament June 23-26 at Red Tail Golf Club.

β€œIt was unfortunate that Mother Nature did not cooperate with us today,” said AJGA Tournament Director Jeremy Freyman. β€œOur number one priority is the safety of our members, while doing all we can to play golf. The weather looks beautiful for the rest of the week and we are looking forward to another great event at Red Tail Golf Club.”

Qualifying in the Boys Division were Bryan Barach of Niskayuna, N.Y., Chris McKay of Columbus, Ohio, Josh Agin of Zanesville, Ohio, Pat Pelland of Columbus, Ohio, Sean Van Aken of Monroe, Mich., Ryan Rao of Medina, Ohio, Eric Dowiatt of Ashland, Ohio, Paul Srnis of Amherst, Ohio, Matthew Jones of Oberlin, Ohio, Aaron Pontsler of Monclova, Ohio, Collin Hoops of Bowling Green, Ohio and Zachary Deutch of Orange Village, Ohio.

The qualifiers in the Girls Division consisted of Brooke O'Brien of Hilliard, Ohio, Cassandra Tavolarella of Vero Beach, Fla., Kristen Helmsdoerfer of Westerville, Ohio and Allison Harper of Columbus, Ohio.

All other participants who did not withdraw prior to the cancellation of the AJGA Qualifier received a $25 refund and one performance star.
