For Peacock, the front nine was where he felt best. He birdied Nos. 1 and 2, made eagle on No. 6 and another birdie on No. 8 for a front nine score of 5-under-par 31. Peacock said he could see all of his short game practice paying off.
“I hit the ball well on the front,” Peacock said. “It seemed like I was hitting everything within five feet.”
On the other hand, Glatz showed his strength on the back side. After shooting even-par 36 on the front nine, Glatz went 4-under-par on his last four holes. “I want to work on my irons for tomorrow,” Glatz said. “They are a little out of control.”
