PGA TOUR
Derek Ernst
prevailed in a playoff against David Lynn to earn his first professional win at the Wells Fargo Championship. Ernst finished at 8-under-par 280 and two-putted for par to beat Lynn on the first playoff hole.

Ernst competed in two AJGA events in 2007. He tied for sixth in both events including the Las Vegas Founders Junior Golf Championship and the ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior.

Ernst went on to play for the University of Las Vegas-Nevada Rebels where he recorded three career individual victories and his 71.80 career scoring average became second lowest in program history.

LPGA Tour
Cristie Kerr
defeated Suzann Pettersen on the second playoff hole to win the Kingsmill Championship for her 16th career victory and third title on the Kingsmill Resort River Course. Kerr carded rounds of 66-71-66-69 for a 12-under-par 272.

A three-time Rolex Junior All-American, Kerr earned 13 career junior individual titles. In 1995, she won five AJGA titles en route to Rolex Junior Player of the Year honors. Other junior highlights include victories at the 1994 Women’s Western Junior and the 1995 Orange Bowl International Junior. She made an appearance at the 1996 Curtis Cup and earned low amateur honors at the 1996 U.S. Women’s Open.

Brendon Todd
was declared the winner of the Stadion Classic at UGA after rain forced the cancellation of the final round. Todd carded a 2-under-par 69 during the third round for a 54-hole total of 8-under-par 205.

A three-time Rolex Junior All-American, Todd won the 2003 Rolex Tournament of Champions with a two-stroke lead over Brian Harman. His career was also highlighted by a T3 finish at the 2003 Thunderbird International Junior.

A former member of the University of Georgia squad, Todd became the third consecutive Bulldog to win the event after Russell Henley (2011) and Hudson Swafford (2012). During his collegiate career, Todd was the team’s low scorer during the 2005 National Championship.

ACE

The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program provides financial assistance to junior golfers who wish to play in AJGA events. Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
