Weekend wrap-up (March 17)

Jon Curran earned his first Web.com Tour title in only his fourth start, finishing the Brasil Champions presented by HSBC at 25-under-par 259. He made history each day, making eight consecutive birdies in the first round, scoring the second-lowest 36-hole total (125) in history, and matching the lowest 54-hole score ever (190).

Curran competed in AJGA events from 2001-2004, totaling nine top-10 finishes and three victories. A three-time Rolex Junior All-American, his best Invitational showings came in 2003 when he posted sixth-place finishes at the Thunderbird International Junior and the Rolex Tournament of Champions.

He continued his career at Vanderbilt University where he holds the 54-hole scoring record at 15-under-par and the 72-hole scoring record at 4-under-par. In 2007, he finished eighth at the NCAA Championship, which is the highest finish for a player in Vanderbilt history. In 2009, he graduated as an All-American and subsequently turned professional.
