BRASELTON, Ga. — The American Junior Golf Association along with the Junior Golf Association of Arizona will host an informative seminar on junior golf at the Golf Academy of America's Phoenix Campus Saturday, June 12, beginning at 4 p.m. The purpose of the seminar will be to help parents and players navigate the world of competitive local and national junior golf. Representatives from the AJGA and the Junior Golf Association of Arizona will present information about opportunities for young junior golfers.
Each representative will introduce parents/players to the organization and distinguish the difference between the two organizations. Larry Berroya, AJGA West Regional Director, will provide junior golfers and parents an opportunity to learn about the building block process to a successful junior golf career. Local, regional, state and national golf tournaments will be discussed with a focus on achieving a college golf scholarship. Also included in discussion will be learning how to get started with each organization as well as the competitive expectations in junior golf today.

The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program provides financial assistance to junior golfers who wish to play in AJGA events. Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
