Connelly Wins Second Consecutive Event at Junior All-Star at Penn State
DiLisio wins first AJGA event at Penn State Golf Course

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Austin Connelly of Las Colinas, Texas, went wire-to-wire to win the Junior All-Star at Penn State with a tournament total of 8-under-par 208. Isabella DiLisio of Hatfield, Pa., held on to her second round lead to win the Girls Division with a final score of 2-over-par 218.

The Junior All-Star at Penn State was a 54-hole, stroke play event conducted by the American Junior Golf Association at Penn State Golf Course — Blue Course in State College, Pa. The tournament field consisted of 96 players, 72 boys and 24 girls, from 18 states, Mexico and Canada. The Boys Division played the par-72 course at 6,709 yards and the Girls Division played at 5,985 yards.

Connelly won his second consecutive Junior All-Star event, after winning the Junior All-Star at Hilton Head last week. Starting with No. 9, he had 4 birdies in a row.

“I started off with a birdie after a 30-foot putt, so I felt good from the beginning,” Connelly said. “It feels great to win an AJGA event, especially for the second week in a row. I've been working on my swing, and everything is coming together.”

Finishing in second place for the tournament was Randall Herriott of Brandywine, Md., shooting a tournament total of 6-under-par 210. In third place was Kyle Sterbinsky of Yardley, Pa., with a final score of 2-under-par 214. Cole Berman of Rosemont, Pa., finished fourth with a score of 1-under-par 215. Rounding out the top five for the Boys Division was Timothy Colanta of Monroe Township, N.J., with a 2-over-par 218.

In the Girls Division, DiLisio had four birdies on the day to hold on to win her second AJGA event this week.

“I am really excited because this week was my first experience with the AJGA,” DiLisio said. “I played really well all week, so I'm pretty excited and honored to bring home the trophy.”

Finishing second in the Girls Division with a score of 9-over-par 225 was Jackie Rogowicz of Yardley, Pa. Rounding out the top three was Bryana Nguyen with a tournament total of 10-over-par 226.

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.
