TOUR Highlights: July 24

PGA TOUR

Jordan Spieth won The Open Championship in Southport, England, to make him the first player to tally 10 TOUR titles and three major titles before turning 24. Spieth finished at 12-under-par 268 to hold off fellow AJGA alumni Matt Kuchar by three strokes. The three-time Rolex Junior All-American lead after each round of The Open Championship.

In his five years with the AJGA, Spieth claimed seven national junior golf titles including two at the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2009 and 2011. The 2009 Rolex Junior Player of the Year also earned 27 top-10 finishes.

LPGA Tour

In-Kyung Kim won the Marathon Classic presented by Owens Corning and O-I in Sylvania, Ohio. Kim carded eight birdies in the final round for an 8-under-par 63 and to give her a tournament-total 21-under-par 263.

Kim played two years with the AJGA (2005-06). She earned Rolex Junior All-America honors during both years. In addition to an AJGA victory at the 2005 Hargray Junior Classic, Kim also won the 2005 U.S. Girls’ Junior.

Sam Ryder earned the title at the Pinnacle Bank Championship presented by Heartland Chevy Dealers in Omaha, Nebraska. The 27-year-old recorded seven of his tournament-total 24 birdies in the final round to finish at 21-under-par 263. Ryder finished eight strokes ahead of the next finishers.

Ryder competed with the AJGA from 2005-07. The Florida native won the 2006 Fidelity Investments Junior at Trump National Golf Club. He also competed in the 2007 Rolex Tournament of Champions before attending Stetson University.
