As the longest-running boys-only tournament on the AJGA schedule, the CB&I / Simplify Boys Championship at Carlton Woods boasts a rich tournament history. Some of the most recognizable names on the PGA TOUR came through the ranks of this prestigious tournament.

In 2011, a 17-year-old Jordan Spieth ended a storied career with a 4-shot victory at The Club at Carlton Woods. The tournament completed a career which included five AJGA wins. In 2010, Spieth finished runner-up at the CB&I / Simplify Boys Championship at Carlton Woods, losing to another familiar face, Bobby Wyatt by two strokes.

In 1992, a young Tiger Woods claimed victory at the CB&I / Simplify Boys Championship at Carlton Woods. The tournament took place at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas.

The first year of the event in 1987, Jim Furyk paced the field to claim the championship. That year the tournament took place at Gleneagles Country Club in Plano, Texas.
