Shin wins medalist honors in Girls Division

MEDFORD, N.Y. — Joshua Eure of Crofton, Md., took medalist honors in the Lessing's AJGA Classic Srixon Qualifier in the Boys Division. Nara Shin of Avon, Conn., received medalist honors in the Girls Division at Mill Pond Golf Course.

The 92-player field featured players from 17 states and Singapore. The par-70 course played at 6,180 yards for the Boys Division and 5,696 yards for the Girls Division.

Eure said he used his iron game to put him atop the leaderboard.

“My irons and wedges were working well for me today,” Eure said. “I only missed three greens and two of those were on the fringe.”

With birdies on Nos. 1, 5, 6, 7, 15 and 17 Eure fired a 4-under-par 31 on the front nine and a 1-under-par 34 on the back nine.
