At the FootJoy Boys Invitational it wasn’t hard to see the similarities between that event and a PGA TOUR event. Held at the same venue as the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro, the FootJoy Boys Invitational treated juniors to a first-class course with the feel of a professional event.

FootJoy's famous Sign Boy made an appearance at the FootJoy Boys Invitational once again in 2005.
Thanks to the support of FootJoy, the AJGA conducts the event annually, attracting the top boys’ talent in junior golf. As the title sponsor of the prestigious championship, FootJoy is fully committed to make sure everyone on-site has a very enjoyable experience.

On the driving range, players were treated to Pro VIs to warm up. During the practice round, Sign Boy kept everyone laughing, lightening the mood with his antics and telling the juniors “how we do it on tour.”

Players and their families don’t have to worry about eating out at restaurants all week either, as food and beverage were provided for almost every meal.

The event also has the feel of a TOUR event with the professional signage seen throughout the facility, including the electronic leaderboard on No. 18, the tee markers and tee signage on the first and 10th tees.

One of the many other ways FootJoy makes this tournament so great is by providing a travel stipend for players that helps alleviate some of the financial stress of traveling to the event.
Sign Boy professes his love for FootJoy at the FootJoy Boys Invitational.

“FootJoy is a wonderful friend and supporter of this event and the AJGA,” said AJGA Assistant Executive Director Peter Ripa, who also served as the tournament director of this event. “Everyone had a fantastic week.”

The FootJoy Boys Invitational is just one way the company is involved with the AJGA. FootJoy supports the AJGA in numerous other ways as the “Official Footwear of the AJGA.”

As a nonprofit organization, the AJGA depends on the support of generous sponsors such as FootJoy, but FootJoy is much more than just a sponsor. FootJoy is a company that cares about the future of golf and is doing all it can to help develop golf’s next generation.
