To kick off his AJGA career, Conner Gollwitzer of Boyertown, Pennsylvania, joined 96 players in the field at the AJGA Preview at Château Élan presented by Halski Systems.

Gollwitzer is a recipient of the Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program. The goal of the ACE Grant program is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

Gollwitzer, 16, first heard about the AJGA through his cousin, Zach Gollwitzer, who got noticed through the AJGA and now plays college golf at Akron. Zach competed in three AJGA tournaments in 2012 and earned co-medalist honors at the Preseason Junior at Prairie Landing.

Through his cousin and word of mouth, Conner Gollwitzer has been interested in competing in AJGA tournaments for some time. “I knew [the AJGA] is where you have to be if you want to get looked at,” Conner said.

Gollwitzer, a rising junior at Oley Valley High School, works at his home golf course in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. Gollwitzer noted that he works approximately four days a week after school at Moselem Springs Golf Club.

Gollwitzer is also a Leadership Links participant and raises money for Project Hope.
