Twelve of the 20 players who earned 2016 LPGA Tour cards at Q-School are AJGA alumni, beginning with medalist Simin Feng who won wire-to-wire and posted the third-lowest total since Q-School moved to five rounds in 2004. The four-time Rolex Junior All-American attended Vanderbilt for one year before turning pro.

Other qualifiers included: Grace Na, Maude-Aimee LeBlanc, Cydney Clanton, Ashlan Ramsey, Laetitia Beck, Gaby Lopez, Cheyenne Woods, Bertine Strauss, and Lindy Duncan.

Two of the five teens who qualified are members and graduates of the Class of 2015: Benyapa Niphatsophon and Meghan Kang, both 18.

Niphatsophon won the Bishops Gate Golf Academy Junior Classic in July and posted two other top junior golf finishes. Khang represented the United States on the 2015 PING Junior Solheim Cup team, was the low amateur at the U.S. Women’s Open and in her AJGA career, won the 2013 PING Invitational.

Bubba Watson earned his ninth career victory and second of 2015 with a final-round 6-under-par 66 and a three-shot victory Dec. 6 at the Hero World Challenge.

Watson finished ahead of other AJGA alumni Patrick Reed, Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and Bill Haas.

Watson originally declined invitation into the Hero World Challenge but with the win, nearly bested Spieth’s 72-hole scoring record of 26-under 262, set last year at Isleworth.

AJGA tournament host Justin Rose set a new course record at Albany, ending the final round with 10 birdies, good for 10-under-par 62. The previous record was only in place for a day, as Watson and Paul Casey shot 9-under-par 63 on Dec. 5.
