  • Mariel Galdiano of Pearl City, Hawaii, chases her first AJGA win and is in position after the first round of the Rolex Girls Junior Championship. At No. 9 in the Polo Golf Rankings, Galdiano has finished in the top 10 in six of the seven AJGA events she’s played in the past two seasons. Her opening round of 4-under-par 68 was the lowest score she’s posted in her two appearances at the Rolex Girls Junior Championship.

  • After the first round, the par-4 No. 7 proved to be the most difficult hole with only three birdies. No. 9 had a stroke average of 5.014; 13 players made birdie on the par-5.

  • AJGA staff alumnae Ann Cain, who has worked as Player Promotion Executive, Women’s Golf, Acushnet Company, for nearly 22 years, will be the guest speaker at Wednesday’s Players Dinner. Cain builds and maintains relationships with AJGA alumna often in her travels to the top women’s golf events on the LPGA, college, amateur and junior tours.
