Rickie Fowler has agreed to partner with the American Junior Golf Association’s Leadership Links program for a second year. Fowler will play six holes of golf with the top fundraisers in each of the following program categories:

  • Birdies for Charity junior golf charity (top 3)
  • Birdies for Charity non-junior golf charity (top 3)
  • Playing fore their Future (top 3)
  • Organizers of a fundraising event (top 2)

The Leadership Links program allows the AJGA to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. Through Leadership Links, juniors can raise money for a charity of their choice along with the AJGA’s Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant Program, which helps provide junior golfers with playing opportunities and the chance to earn college scholarships, regardless of financial resources.

The Playing fore their Future program is an easy way for juniors to learn charitable skills while supporting the research of childhood diseases through the Nicklaus Childrens Health Care Foundation.

Through Birdies for Charity and Golf-a-thon programs, juniors are able to raise money for either a junior golf charity and/or a charity of their choice as they play this year. The United States Golf Association will also match funds raised, dollar-for-dollar, for junior golf charities. Birdies for Charity allows juniors to secure pledges and one-time donations for birdies they achieve in any tournament rounds throughout the year. With Golf-a-thon, juniors secure pledges and one-time donations based on the number of holes played during a specific time frame.

The AJGA provides participants with a personalized website. The personalized website can be used as a tool that the juniors can send out to their families and friends and it will also help track their fundraising progress.

The final dates and location for Fowler’s event with the top fundraisers will be determined later this spring.
