AJGA represented at LPGA major

Golfweek article

Six AJGA players received invitations to compete at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Current AJGA members Alison Lee and Ashlan Ramsey are set to compete, while alumnae Doris Chen, Lindy Duncan, Isabelle Lendl and Stephanie Meadow earned spots into the LPGA major at Mission Hills Country Club, April 4-7.

Alison Lee will make her second straight appearance at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Lee, who missed the cut in 2012, has had success on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course having previously won the 2010 ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior. The five-time, first-team Rolex Junior All-American is currently No. 1 in the Polo Golf Rankings after a successful 2012 season that included bookend Invitational victories at the ANNIKA Invitational and The PING Invitational. A six-time AJGA champion, Lee will compete for the UCLA Bruins in the fall.

Ashlan Ramsey has recorded 14 top-five finishes and three titles in national competition. In 2012, she was named a first-team Rolex Junior All-American for the second consecutive year after winning the Sea Pines Junior Heritage and finishing runner-up at the AJGA Girls Championship. Ramsey has signed a National Letter of Intent with Clemson and is No. 16 in the Polo Golf Rankings.

Doris Chen was a five-time Rolex Junior All-American behind the strength of three wins in national competition, including the 2010 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship.  She competed in AJGA events from 2006 to 2011 before signing a National Letter of Intent with the University of Southern California. Within her freshman year at USC, Chen tallied six top-11 finishes highlighted by an individual win at the Pac-12 championships.

The reigning PING NGCA Player of the Year, Lindy Duncan earned first team All-America honors in her first three seasons at Duke. During the 2012 season, she finished top-10 in all starts including four wins, and she represented the United States at the Curtis Cup. A three-time Rolex Junior All-American, Duncan recorded nine top-10 finishes and one victory during her AJGA career.

University of Florida senior Isabelle Lendl notched four victories in national competition during her junior career, including the 2006 Thunderbird International Junior and the 2006 Scott Robertson Memorial. Throughout her time at Florida, she added seven amateur and collegiate titles to her resume, including the 2013 Dixie Amateur Championship.

A junior at Alabama, Stephanie Meadow won the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship and captured the Curtis Cup for the GB&I at the Curtis Cup in the summer of 2012. A two-time All-American, Meadow was named the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2011. Before her collegiate career, Meadow won two AJGA tournaments and was a two-time Rolex Junior All-American.
