The eighth annual Junior PLAYERS Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf will tee off at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Friday, August 29, 2014. The all-boys field, made up of 78 players from 17 states, Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, France, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, United Kingdom and Vietnam will compete at the PGA TOUR venue.

The 2014 event will mark the first time players will experience The Stadium Course for all three days of competition since 2010. While the set up for the last three years has included a second-round challenge on the Dye’s Valley Course, the 2014 playing will exclude the stop, giving juniors the opportunity to experience the full course setup the PGA TOUR uses for The PLAYERS Championship. Tee times will run from 8 – 10 a.m. off the Nos. 1 and 10 tees from Friday, August 29, to Sunday, August 31.

In 2013, Austen Truslow of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, posted a wire-to-wire victory with rounds of 71-67-75. The win marked the Virginia commit’s first AJGA Invitational victory and established him as one of the top juniors in the world. Truslow etched his name on a champion’s trophy that boasts several collegiate All-Americans and PGA TOUR professionals, including Morgan Hoffmann (2007), Evan Beck (2008), Bobby Wyatt (2009), Michael Johnson (2010), Gavin Hall (2011) and Robby Shelton (2012).

In cooperation with the PGA TOUR, the American Junior Golf Association has hosted the event at TPC Sawgrass in an effort to give juniors an experience as similar to the professionals’ at The PLAYERS Championship as possible. Traditionally, the AJGA replicates the course setup of the PGA TOUR’s PLAYERS Championship, as well as providing locker room access to the players and caddies for the week of competition.
