The American Junior Golf Association, in conjunction with the Canadian Junior Golf Association
, will conduct an AJGA Open event in London, Ontario, in 2013. The event will run August 12-15 at Greenhills Golf Club and the field will include equal participation from AJGA and CJGA members.
“The AJGA is excited to partner with the CJGA,” AJGA Vice President of Tournament Development Jason Ross said. “By adding this event to the 2013 schedule, we are able to open more playing opportunities to our growing membership.”
The AJGA last hosted two events on Canadian soil in the 2003 season: the Toldo Group Eastern Canadian Junior at Roseland Golf and Curling Club in Windsor, Ontario, and the BMO Financial Group Future Links Junior at Caledon Woods in Bolton, Ontario.
“The CJGA is delighted to partner with the AJGA as we continue to provide new opportunities for our membership in Canada,” CJGA Chief Operations Officer Brad Parkins said. “Joining forces with the AJGA is a merging of the two leading junior golf associations in our respective countries and this joint event will provide our membership a chance to compete against their American counterparts on home soil.”
Greenhills Golf Club, which is comprised of an 18-hole championship course and a nine-hole academy course, opened in 1975.
