Weekend wrap-up (March 31)

Two-time Rolex Junior Player of the Year Ariya Jutanugarn captured her first professional title at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco, carding a 14-under-par 270 to win in her fourth Ladies European Tour start.

Jutanugarn held the No. 1 spot in the Polo Golf Rankings from July 2, 2011, until she turned pro following her win at the Polo Golf Junior Classic in November 2012. With eight national junior golf titles since she began competing in the United States in 2009, Jutanugarn was named Rolex Junior Player of the Year in 2011 and 2012, becoming the fifth girl to earn back-to-back honors.

In 2012, she defended titles at the Junior PGA Championship as well as the Rolex Girls Junior Championship, where she set the AJGA girls’ 72-hole scoring record at 18-under-par 270, breaking the record she established in 2011.

D.A. Points closed with a 6-under-par 66 to win the Shell Houston Open by one stroke. He finished at 16-under-par 272 for his second PGA TOUR victory.

Points finished in the top 20 in all four AJGA starts during the 1994 season en route to second-team Rolex Junior All-America honors. He finished second at the ClubCorp Junior Championship, tied for fifth at the Natural Resource Partners Bluegrass Junior and finished ninth at the Rolex Tournament of Champions.

After his junior career, Points competed at the University of Illinois where he was an All-American. He recorded a T9 individual finish at the 1999 NCAA Championship before turning professional.
