Every two years, on golf’s biggest stage, players unite to battle against the opposing Solheim and Ryder Cup teams. It’s a classic clash of the American team versus the European team.  Yet at the AJGA, the rivalry comes once a year between the East and the West.

In its 26th edition, Wyndham Cup will feature two 20-player rosters from across the country in a showdown at Old Town Club in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, July 27-30. Invites come based on Polo Golf Rankings and performance throughout the year, and the Yani Tseng Invitational presented by the Swinging Skirts showcases some of the talent headed to Wyndham Cup.

The West Team features Youngin Chun of Austin, Texas, Stephanie Lau of Fullerton, California, Haley Moore of Escondido, California, and Xinying Wang of Pleasanton, California, from the Invitational. Lau, ranked No. 33 in the Polo Golf Rankings, is one of seven girls on the East Team making her Wyndham Cup debut.

“I’m really, really excited,” Lau said. “I think it’s an honor to be able to play, and I think it’ll be a really good challenge and experience for me.”

East of the Mississippi River, Rachel Dai of Milton, Georgia, and Emilia Migliaccio of Cary, North Carolina will vie for possession of the Wyndham Cup for the first time since 2012 at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Florida. Migliaccio, a verbal commit to Wake Forest University and a first-time Wyndham Cup participant, looks forward to the team aspect.

“It’s like you play for your country,” Migliaccio said. “You play for pride. Golf is an individual sport, but this time you have a team and you can have a team bond.”

Wyndham Cup will feature five formats: four-ball, mixed four-ball, foursomes, mixed foursomes and singles. Fifty points are available, and each junior will compete in singles matches and three of the four other formats.
