2015 Winter/Spring Preview: Preseason Series

preseasonpreviewstorywebsitecover.jpg
If you are a new AJGA member or have never played in an AJGA tournament, the Preseason Series is the perfect way for you to start competing with the AJGA. The series features 13 events and is designed specifically for AJGA members who have not yet played or been accepted to an AJGA tournament. This series conducted during the spring, offers new and returning members the opportunity to start building Performance Based Entry status before application deadlines arrive for summer Open and Junior All-Star Series events.

Priority for entry is based on graduation year and in 2014, 100 percent of juniors and seniors who had never been accepted to an AJGA tournament were accepted into these events. That means in spring 2014, all new members in their junior or senior year got into a Preseason Series event and, there was still plenty of room for sophomores and freshmen. In 2014, 76 percent of all new members who were sophomores gained entry, and many freshmen as well.

Every AJGA member has to start somewhere, and the Preseason Series is the ideal place to begin. With tournaments in January, March, April and May there are plenty of playing opportunities to choose from.

The application for the first Preseason Series event of the year, the Preseason Junior at Morongo, January 17-19, 2015, is scheduled to open mid-November, and remaining events will open in mid-January 2015.
