Wyndham Cup: Meet the West Team

The West (13-9-2) returns with nine players from previous Wyndham Cup rosters as it looks to retain the Cup for the second straight year. History is on the West’s side, as it captured the Wyndham Cup the first time the event was held at Old Sandwich Golf Club in 2010.
 

West Boys
 
Sam Burns
Burns, of Shreveport, Louisiana, returns to the Wyndham Cup after a 2012 appearance for the West. The two-time Rolex Junior All-American won the 2014 Rolex Tournament of Champions, firing a record 21-under-par 267, including an eagle on the par-5 No. 18. Burns also finished third at the 2014 Thunderbird Invitational and is a LSU verbal commit.
 
Austin Connelly
A four-time AJGA champion, Connelly will play in his second consecutive Wyndham Cup. The Southern Methodist University verbal commit from Irving, Texas, most recently won the 2014 FJ Invitational, firing 66-68-70-67–271. He is the highest-ranked boy on the West squad at No. 4 in the Polo Golf Rankings and was a first-team Rolex Junior All-American in 2013.
 
George Cunningham
A 2013 Rolex Junior All-American, Cunningham holds two AJGA titles, including the 2013 TaylorMade-adidas Golf Junior at Innisbrook hosted by Sean O’Hair. Cunningham of Tucson, Arizona, ranked No. 19, is making his debut at the Wyndham Cup and has signed with the University of Arizona.
 
Brad Dalke
Dalke of Hobart, Oklahoma, returns as the Wyndham Cup veteran for the West. This will be his fourth consecutive appearance. The Oklahoma verbal commit holds three AJGA wins, including both the CB&I Boys Championship at Carlton Woods and The PING Invitational in 2013. The three-time Rolex Junior All-American is No. 9 in the Polo Golf Rankings.
 
Cooper Dossey
Dossey of Austin, Texas, will compete in his first Wyndham Cup. The Texas A&M verbal commit earned his first AJGA victory at the 2014 Goodman Networks Junior at Traditions and has four top-10 finishes since 2012. He is No. 26 in the Polo Golf Rankings.
 
Nathan Jeansonne
Making his Wyndham Cup debut, the No. 22-ranked Jeansonne of Keithville, Louisiana, won the 2012 Sooner Junior All-Star and the 2013 David Toms Foundation Shreveport Junior. Jeansonne has five top-five finishes in his AJGA career spanning back to 2011. KK Limbhasut
Limbhasut, of Loma Linda, California, comes into his first Wyndham Cup with a win at the 2014 Winn Grips Heather Farr Classic hosted by Longbow Golf Club. The UC Berkeley signee and 2013 Rolex Junior All-American, also won the 2014 Western Junior Championship and the 2012 Under Armour® / Gary Woodland Championship.
 
Collin Morikawa
With a third-place finish at the 2014 Rolex Tournament of Champions, Morikawa will represent the West for the second consecutive year. The Rolex Junior All-American from La Canada Flintridge, California, has six top-five AJGA finishes from 2010-14 and a victory at the 2013 Western Junior Championship.
 
Josh Seiple
First-time participant and Castle Rock, Colorado, native Josh Seiple is No. 33 in the Polo Golf Rankings. Seiple won the 2012 Aspen Junior Golf Classic, the 2013 Jones Cup Junior Invitational and tied for ninth at the 2014 Western Junior Championship. He will begin his collegiate career at Ole Miss in the fall.
 
Jacob Solomon
Solomon, a native of Dublin, California, will represent the West in his second Wyndham Cup appearance. The two-time Rolex Junior All-American claimed three AJGA wins in three consecutive attempts in 2012 – the AJGA Junior at Ruby Hill, the Junior All-Star at Gainey Ranch and the Stockton Convention and Visitors Bureau Junior All-Star. Solomon has verbally committed to Auburn.
 
West Girls
 
Lakareber Abe
Abe makes her Wyndham Cup debut with the West after earning second-team Rolex Junior All-America honors in 2013. The University of Alabama signee from Angleton, Texas, has six runner-up finishes since 2008, including the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship and the Polo Golf Junior Classic, both in 2013.
 
Kristen Gillman
Making her first Wyndham Cup appearance, Gillman of Austin, Texas, won the 2013 Genesis Shootout presented by the Valero Texas Open and sits at No. 3 in the Polo Golf Rankings. The 2013 Rolex Junior All-American has finished in the top six in her last four AJGA starts including a third-place showing at the 2013 Polo Golf Junior Classic. Gillman has verbally committed to the University of Alabama.
 
Amy Lee
The three-time Rolex Junior All-American from Brea, California, will make her third straight Wyndham Cup appearance. Lee is a two-time AJGA champion, with victories at the 2011 Stockton Convention and Visitors Bureau Junior Open and the 2012 ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior. She also won the 2013 Junior PGA Championship. Lee is one of three girls on the West committed to play at the University of Southern California.
 
Andrea Lee
No. 1-ranked Lee of Hermosa Beach, California, was named to the West Wyndham Cup team for the third consecutive year. The three-time Rolex Junior All-American comes off her first AJGA wins at the 2014 Rolex Tournament of Champions and first-ever Yani Tseng Invitational presented by the Swinging Skirts. The 2014 Thunderbird International Junior runner-up has verbally committed to Stanford University.
 
Hannah O’Sullivan
O’Sullivan, a Paradise Valley, Arizona, native, will represent the West team for the second year in a row. The two-time Rolex Junior All-American and 2010 Stockton Sports Commission Junior Open champion has verbally committed to play for the University of Southern California.
 
Kaitlyn Papp
A 2013 second-team Rolex Junior All-American, Papp enters her first Wyndham Cup at No. 23 in the Polo Golf Rankings. She placed second at the 2013 AJGA Girls Junior Championship, along with 12 other top-10 finishes in her AJGA career. The Austin, Texas, native is a verbal commit to the University of Texas.
 
Robynn Ree
Named to the 2013 Rolex Junior All-America Team, Ree will play in her first Wyndham Cup. The University of Southern California verbal commit from Redondo Beach, California, has six top-five finishes in her AJGA career, including a win at the 2013 AJGA Junior at River Ridge.
 
Maddie Szeryk
Four-time AJGA champion and No. 8-ranked Szeryk of Allen, Texas, was named to her first Wyndham Cup team in 2014. The two-time Rolex Junior All-American has eight top-three finishes from 2009-14 in AJGA play. Szeryk has signed a National Letter of Intent to Texas A&M and comes off her first Invitational win at the Thunderbird International Junior.
 
Elizabeth Wang
The youngest player in the field at 14 years old, the San Marino, California, native will play in her first Wyndham Cup. Wang already has two victories in 2014, most recently at the Rolex Girls Junior Championship, increasing her career total to three. Wang was an honorable mention Rolex Junior All-American in 2013.
 
Bethany Wu
Wu returns to the Wyndham Cup after her first appearance in 2013. Wu, of Diamond Bar, California, boasts two-time Rolex Junior All-America honors and won the ANNIKA Invitational back-to-back in 2013 and 2014. The rising high school senior is No. 4 in the Polo Golf Rankings and has verbally committed to play golf at UCLA.
