Peter Uihlein became the first American to be named the European Tour’s Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year following a successful season on the European Tour. The former Rolex Junior Player of the Year recorded five top-10 finishes, two runner-up showings and a victory at the Madeira Islands Open.

He made headlines in September when he fired a 12-under-par 60 in the second round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, one stroke away from becoming the first player to shoot a 59 on the European Tour.

A four-time Rolex Junior All-American, Uihlein recorded six career AJGA victories including the 2007 FJ Invitational and was named Rolex Junior Player of the Year in both 2005 and 2007. He posted top Invitational finishes including the 2005 AJGA Boys Junior Championship (4th), 2005 Thunderbird International Junior (3rd) and the 2006 Rolex Tournament of Champions where he finished runner-up. A 2008 high school graduate, Uihlein went on to win the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship.

Uihlein’s collegiate career at Oklahoma State University was highlighted by runner-up finishes at the Big 12 Championship and NCAA Championship during his sophomore season. In 2009, he represented the United States in the Walker Cup, posting a 4-0 record on the victorious U.S. squad. After winning the Ben Hogan Award during his junior year, he turned professional in December 2011.
