After a rain delay forced a Monday finish, Zach Johnson earned his 10th PGA TOUR victory at the BMW Championship, winning by two strokes over Nick Watney at 16-under-par 268. The win guaranteed his spot in the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola and a chance to win the FedEx Cup.
Johnson competed in two AJGA events as a junior, with his best finish coming at the Wakonda Junior Classic. He went on to compete at Drake University from 1995-98.
Jim Furyk made headline s after he carded a 12-under-par 59 during the third round of the BMW Championship. He became the sixth player in PGA TOUR history to shoot a 59.
During his three-year
AJGA career, Furyk played in 26 events, including the Rolex Tournament of
Champions in back-to-back years. He was named to the 1987 Rolex Junior
All-America First Team after winning the Ben Hogan Boys Junior Championship and
finishing in the top 10 five additional times.
