Proveaux makes PGA TOUR debut

Proveaux Eager to Compete Against Pros in FESJC • PGA TOUR live scoring

2011 Rolex Junior Player of the Year Cody Proveaux is making his PGA TOUR debut at the FedEx St. Jude Classic (FESJC).

Proveaux will compete as a sponsor’s exemption in the tournament at TPC Southwind. The partnership between the AJGA and FESJC, which began in 2007, allows for the male Rolex Junior Player of the Year to compete in the annual event. Former Rolex Junior Players of the Year Philip Francis, Cameron Peck, Jordan Spieth and Anthony Paolucci all competed on an exemption in the tournament.

The graduating senior Proveaux was named Rolex Junior Player of the Year following wins at the Junior PGA Championship and Polo Golf Junior Classic and recorded five additional top-5 finishes. He has already recorded a top-5 finish in three AJGA tournaments this season and will play collegiate golf at Clemson in the fall.

The Rolex Junior Player of the Year award was introduced in 1978 and recognizes one boy and one girl who performed well at junior golf events on the national level. Past recipients have gone on to become some of the most esteemed players on the PGA and LPGA Tours, including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Charles Howell III, Hunter Mahan, Scott Verplank, Cristie Kerr, Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel.

Proveaux is paired up with two AJGA alums in the first and second rounds - Jamie Lovemark and Jason Kokrak. Be sure to follow him live with the PGA TOUR's live scoring.
