My Scotty Cameron Moment

Chenxiao Duan receives the Scotty Cameron putter cover at the AJGA Sarasota Junior.

Each week, the AJGA honors one boy and one girl at each AJGA tournament who shoot the low final-round score. Below we hear from players at recent events as they recount the defining moment of their round.

AJGA Junior at Steelwood presented by AT&T

“I was just trying to make as many birdies as I could because I knew there were a lot of guys behind me that can just tear it up,” said Jimmy Beck, Boys Division champion, after a 4-under-par 68.

“I have had three hole-in-ones and this was my second one playing AJGA,” said  Mariah Stackhouse after a hole-in-one that lead to a 3-under-par 69. “I hit a 7-iron because the green is so fast so I let it just roll down to the hole and it went in. I didn’t see it go in because it is kind of shady down by the green, but the volunteer said it was in.”

Aspen Golf Classic presented by Jim McLean

"I would have to say my eagle on No. 15,” said Boys Division winner David Oraee of his 2-under-par 69. “I was up by two before I hit that and it put me up by four shots at the time. Those two strokes really turned out to make a difference."

"My putting was the best part of my game today,” said Stephanie Liu, who recorded an even-par 71. “I spent time after yesterday's round working on my putting with my coach and my mom and it really paid off today."

PING Phoenix Junior

"The highlight of my round was my eagle on No. 13,” said J.J. Holen, who posted a 6-under-par 66. “I pushed my drive right and I didn't know if I should go for the green or lay up. I ended up going for it, but I was pretty far from the hole. Then, I made the long putt to get the eagle."

"The highlight of my round was when I chipped in for birdie on No. 16,” said Lilia Vu, who recorded a 2-under-par 70. “I was just trying to run it close and save par, but then ended up going in."

Mexican Golf Federation Junior Open

“I eagled No. 14 and that was big for me,” said Boys Division champion Kraig McLeod, who carded a 1-under-par 71. “I also made a big three-foot putt on No. 18 to save par and finish my round on a strong note.”

“My defining moment of the final round was after a triple bogey on No. 10,” said Ana Laura Gomez after posting a 1-over-par 73 to force a playoff. “I needed to relax and regroup. I needed to go back to the game and play and I did just that.”

Rolex Girls Junior Championship

“I was consistent all day but when I made birdie on No. 12 it was good because it was a really long putt for birdie,” said Yueer Cindy Feng after claiming back-to-back AJGA Invitational titles.

Las Vegas Junior Open presented by The Pacemaker

"This is definitely my biggest golf achievement,” said Zane Thomas after taking the top spot in the Boys Division. “It hasn't set in yet. My eagle on No. 13 was the highlight of my round. I hit it to the right side of the rough for my first shot, then hit my pitching wedge from 120 yards and heard it hit the pin."

"The highlight of my round was on No. 8,” said Devon Brown after claiming the Girls Division title with a 1-under-par 71. “It really got my round going. I hit my third shot to the pin high, then made a 12-foot putt for birdie."

FootJoy Invitational

"I hit a few close irons,” said Hunter Stewart after firing a 3-under-par 67. “I almost holed out on No. 15 from 240 yards for double eagle."
